Recognized Emissions Repair Facility

Texas requires an annual safety and emissions inspection for vehicles registered in Dallas County. When a vehicle fails the emissions portion, the repair has to be made by a shop that knows the systems involved — and ideally by one certified by the state to do it.

Davis Automotive is a Recognized Emissions Repair Facility of Texas. Our technicians are trained and tested on emissions diagnosis, and we hold the approved equipment required for certification. That means we can inspect your vehicle, diagnose a failure, make the repair, and re-inspect without sending you to a second shop.

Owner Rick Davis was involved in establishing the AirCheck Texas program, which provides repair and replacement assistance to qualifying vehicle owners in participating counties. If your vehicle failed and cost is a concern, ask us about eligibility.

Emissions failures usually trace back to oxygen sensors, catalytic converters, EVAP system leaks, EGR faults, or an engine management problem. These are expensive parts, which is exactly why the diagnosis matters more here than almost anywhere else.
